Middleburg, North Carolina nestles along the shores of Kerr Lake, within the Henderson metropolitan area. As of the 2000 census, Middleburg reported a total population of 162, while Henderson reported over 16,000 residents.

Manufactured products include furniture, yarn, pet food, hosiery, glass containers, lumber, metal fabrications, manufactured homes and tobacco processing. Also widely known for its crappie, catfish, white perch, bass and striper fishing, Kerr Lake creates a haven for area anglers.
