Interstate 85 bisects Granville County, providing easy travel to the dynamic cities of NC's Research Triangle.

January temperatures average 38 degrees and July temperatures average a cool 77 degrees. 44 inches of rain annually keep the rolling Piedmont hills green and fertile. A favorite activity in Granville County is golf. The world-famous Pinehurst Golf Resort is a short drive. Beautiful Falls Lake borders Granville County to the south, offering premier fishing, boating and camping. Three sandy beaches await swimmers. Kerr Lake is Granville County's northern border. North Carolina's largest lake, its 850 miles of shoreline stretch through several counties and into Virginia.
Granville County takes great pride in providing quality education. The public school system repeatedly receives high marks. Two private schools are also available. The Vance Granville Community College lies five miles north of Oxford. It works with local industries to give residents free training tailored to companies' needs. Within forty-five minutes of Granville County are the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University, North Carolina State and North Carolina Central Universities.
