Durham County maintains 98,000 acres of old-growth forests, one of the last remaining stands in the Piedmont. Bahama residents enjoy hiking, scouting for some of the numerous rare bird and plant species in the forest, as well as hunting. Within thirty miles of Bahama are the Eno River State Park, the Falls Lake Recreation Area and Kerr Lake, a 50,000-acre man-made reservoir, perfect for sailing. With a wealth of natural splendor around them, and the bright lights and glitter of Durham to the south, the town of Bahama has access to everything.
